Workshops on MUSE CRUISE 2012 will include new ones, as well as our updated 2011 ones - (we call them “PLAYshops”) include “Point, Shoot, Brag,” “Queasy Writer,” and “Free Your Muse.” Whether you’re a newbie to creative pursuits, or just want to create in new ways with fresh inspiration, you will have a great time sailing the Caribbean while writing, art journaling, and/or shooting photos! CINDY MILLER HOPKINS is a professional travel and nature photographer. Her images have been published by National Geographic, major travel, cruise and in-flight magazines, as well as hundreds of textbook publications, travel guides and calendars. Her work is also on display at the Smithsonian’s Museum of the American Indian. She’s currently on the Foundation Board of the North America Nature Photography Association and a member of American Society of Picture Professionals.
VICKI J. KUYPER is a speaker and freelance writer who has written over 50 books, including Wonderlust: A Spiritual Travelogue for the Adventurous Soul. Over the past 20 years, she’s also written numerous magazine articles, video scripts, greeting cards and the occasional cow pun calendar. When not writing or speaking, Vicki can often be found on the road, exploring some exotic locale–with more books stuffed in her luggage than clothing.
TERESA ROBERTS LOGAN is a professional artist and cartoonist, whose work is collected worldwide. She is the author of her own book of cartoons, The Older I Get, The Less I Care. She has worked in a variety of media, likes gluing things on stuff, and spends most of her time writing and drawing funny stuff. She has spent years as a professional standup comic, and infuses humor into everything she does. She loves travel, movies, wine, and laughing out loud, as well as painting or collaging almost any surface which will stay still for more than 20 minutes. Answers to some anticipated FAQs:
*It's a Princess Cruise, and sails 2012 - September 26th to October 6th (hey, she's-a my birthday!!) from San Francisco, and goes to Catalina Island, San Diego, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, and Mazatlan - not necessarily in that order (see link for itinerary)
*The prices range from $999 Interior to $1549 for Balcony (see link for other price info)
*Gillian of Travel Travel is our awesome Travel Guru, as usual!!
*We will offer our original classes plus "next level" and alternate classes (for example, I'll be doing an Artist Trading Cards class and Swap Soirée); there's plenty of time, as this cruise has four "at sea" days!
*Husbands and partners and significant others are welcome, and of course, all your girlfriends!
* Yes, this trip is a bit more expensive, but to be fair ... it is twice as long as our last one
* Anybody that wants to hold a "category" of cabin, can do so for $50.00
* For a $400 deposit per person, you can pick a cabin and hold that specific room
* Final payment will not be due until June 2012.
* Deposits are refundable except for $50
* This cruise will not be going on sale ... according to Princess, it's sure to sell out easily well in advance
* We would like to have everybody pay their deposit no later then Jan. 15, 2012.
*We discussed some things like dinner time (seating time) choices, etc., and thought we would leave that up to each person - except for two nights where we would make a reservation in one of the restaurants for everyone who wants to join the group for dinner.
Personally, what I would LOVE to see is small groups of friends from all over the country (and heck, the world!) to do the Muse Cruise - and you can all choose how you plan to have fun, relax, see sights, laugh, eat, drink, make art, write, walk, swim, journal, shoot photos, stare at the awesome sea . . . oh yes, and did I say LAUGH?!
ALSO, on THIS Muse Cruise, we will launch COMEDY NIGHT!! We will host a Comedy Night where I will perform, (and maybe I'll get another comedienne or two on the trip who will also perform!!?) We have booked a nightclub for our show on board, and spaces with beautiful views for the art workshops - more details on all this later!
